At Greencoin Solar, we are committed to delivering high-quality solar power products and professional installation services. This Refund & Return Policy outlines the terms under which customers may request a return, refund, or exchange of goods, and applies to both residential and small-commercial clients.

General Return Conditions

Our return policy applies within 7 days of delivery and only to products that are defective, damaged on arrival (DOA), or supplied incorrectly.
Products must be unused, in original condition, and returned with all packaging, cables, manuals, brackets, and accessories.
A proof of purchase (invoice or receipt) is mandatory.
Please do not send items back to the manufacturer directly.

Non-Returnable Items

Due to the technical nature of solar equipment and installation planning, the following items and scenarios are non-returnable:

Used solar products, including:
- Hybrid inverters
- Lithium-ion batteries
- Solar panels
- UPS systems
- All-in-one energy solutions
Installed or partially installed equipment
Products that have been custom-configured to suit your specific system design
Equipment damaged due to:
- Incorrect installation by unauthorised persons
- Negligent use, tampering, or modifications
- Electrical surges or environmental factors
- Unboxing or repackaging damage not caused by Greencoin Solar
Software or firmware product

Refunds

Refunds are only considered under the following conditions:

The product is confirmed to be defective, damaged upon delivery, or incorrect
The item has not been used or installed
A refund is requested in writing within 7 days of delivery

Refund Process:

Item must be returned to our warehouse for inspection.
Once inspected and approved, a refund will be processed within 7–14 business days via the original payment method.
For returns unrelated to defects (if accepted), a 15% restocking fee may apply.

Note: Sale items or promotional bundles are not refundable at full price.

Exchanges and Replacements

We will replace defective or damaged products with the same or equivalent item, subject to stock availability.
If no stock is available, a backorder will be placed, and you will be notified of the estimated delivery timeline.
Exchanges do not apply to installed systems unless proven to be defective and under warranty.

Installation-Related Issues

Installed systems may not be returned for a refund. However, if you experience performance issues:

Our team will assess the installation and resolve any issues within the warranty period.
If the fault is product-related and within warranty, we will replace the component at no cost.
If the fault is due to environmental conditions or misuse, labour and call-out fees may apply.

Warranty & Defect Exclusions

The following will not be considered product defects:

Normal wear and tear of parts or casing
Improper or unauthorised installation
Electrical or lightning damage not covered by a surge protection policy
Battery degradation due to misuse or poor ventilation
Incompatibility due to third-party components
Products that do not meet expectations but function as advertised

Shipping for Returns

Customers are responsible for shipping products back to Greencoin Solar unless otherwise agreed.
If requested, we can arrange courier collection at your cost.
We recommend using a trackable shipping service and insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt of returned goods.

Assessment/handling fee:
If an item is returned and no fault is found, an R150 assessment fee and the cost of return shipping will be charged.

Gifts and Finance Returns

If an item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to the recipient, an exchange or credit note will be issued upon approval.
If the purchase was made via a third-party lender (e.g., financing), refund eligibility will be subject to the terms of your finance agreement.
